The project
This waterfront estate on Duke Hwy in Alva traded an aging tile roof for a clean standing seam metal roof. On the water, wind and weather are relentless, and metal gives this home decades of low-maintenance protection without losing its presence.
What we did
We removed the aging tile roof, inspected and prepped the deck, replaced the underlayment, and installed a new standing seam metal roof sized for this large waterfront home. Throughout the job we protected the grounds and kept the site clean, and we backed the work with a written workmanship warranty.
Why metal roofing for a waterfront Alva home
Alva's homes along the Caloosahatchee and its lakes take a beating from wind and salt-laden air. Standing seam metal is built for that exposure: it stands up to wind far better than tile or shingle, will not rot or absorb water, and needs very little upkeep. For a waterfront estate, that means decades of protection without constant maintenance. More on our residential metal roofing page.
Common questions
Is metal roofing good for a waterfront home in Alva?
Yes. Metal resists wind and salt air better than most materials, does not absorb water, and holds up to the exposure that comes with a waterfront lot in Southwest Florida.
How does a metal roof handle Florida wind?
A properly installed standing seam metal roof is rated for high winds and locks together along concealed seams, which is why it performs so well in coastal and waterfront settings.
Do you replace tile roofs with metal?
Often, yes. Many homeowners switch from tile to metal for the lower weight, longer lifespan, and reduced maintenance. We assess your structure and walk you through the options.
